Reimagined Vintage Hermès Herbag Cabas Tote Bag
'The cleaner the structure, the more vibrant the flowers become’.
The original canvas had gradually developed permanent yellowing, a common characteristic of light canvas after years of use. For this vintage Hermès, I picked a dreamy sequin floral textile and apply it carefully stitch by stitch. What drew me to this transformation was the tension between two opposing languages. The original Hermès silhouette is structured and almost architectural, but the flowers are unapologetically romantic.
The romance exists because the structure holds it.
